PALM SPRINGS GOLF VACATIONS!

The Coachella Valley, a couple hours east of Los Angeles,  is home to a collection of Desert Cities offering golfers as much selection of courses to play as any resort area. It also has perhaps the most dependable weather anywhere in the US for winter golf. Combine this with the natural beauty of the desert, the wide availability of lush green vistas (due to the deep underground aquifer’s water reserves) and you have a winning destination you can return to year after year!

Go-Time Golf in Palm Springs staff are ready to help you with the perfect place to stay and a great itinerary of golf for your group. Call now to get started!  1-888-802-3248

THE DESERT CITES:

Palm Springs & Cathedral City:

Many visitors refer to the whole area as Palm Springs, but it's a single city and the oldest city in the Valley. This appealing town launched Palm Springs desert tourism in the early 1900s and exudes history and Hollywood nostalgia.  The village atmosphere hosts a weekly street fair, famous film festivals, an art museum, and a bustling nightlife. Small-town values and city sophistication merge here. Stay in town and you can walk just about anywhere you need to go!

There are some orignial courses here which offer very economical golfing, such as Tahquitz Creek and Cathedral Canyon. Of particular note however, is the Desert Princess Country Club & Resort. This 27 hole facility is a classic layout with some room in the fairways and greens that are consistantly tops in the valley.

Also of note is Desert Dunes just north of the Airport. This golf club has received many awards and hosted a few PGA qualifying rounds... it can be windy though!

The newest course in the Palm Springs area, Escena, a Troon managed course, is a perfect course to conclude your trip with. It is adjacent to the airport, a great design for the average golfer.. give it a try!

Rancho Mirage / Palm Desert / Indian Wells:

Dotted with country clubs, gated communities and resorts, these towns now are the fastest-growing cities in the state and have the highest personal income average in the valley. Here are my favourites in this mid valley area.

First is the great Desert Willow golf club, with the Firecliff and Mountain courses, perhaps two of the best layouts in the valley.

Also of note is the classic layouts at Indian Wells. Recently rebuilt, the West Course is now the Celebrity Course and it is getting rave reviews. After the Celebrity opening the East Course was closed and the new Clive Clark Course is underway.

Also, across the #10 is the new The Classic Club, the first built by the Bob Hope Classic organization. You can check out the Missions Hills Pete Dye Course and the Mission Hills Gary Player Signature Course.

La Quinta / Indio:

More than 50 years ago, there was mostly sand between Palm Springs and Indio - and not much else. But La Quinta contained one of the world's best resorts, The La Quinta Resort & Club and it's still operating.  With links like the PGA West courses by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and the Greg Norman Resort Course, La Quinta boasts 5 world-class courses and golf packages that include unlimited golf!

One of the best values in this area is the Trilogy Golf Club, home of the annual LG Skins Game. Just next door, you have the new city of La Quinta course, SilverRock Resort. These pack a one two punch thats hard to beat in the Valley!
