They call the La Costa golf course the "Legendary" La Costa for many reasons, but for golfers it's legendary because the game's greatest players have been coming here for more than 30 years -- Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino, Player, Miller, Crenshaw, Kite, Mickelson, Duval, Woods, Lehman.
La Costa Resort and Spa was home for 30 years to the PGA Tour's Tournament of Champions format, known for the past five years as the Mercedes Championship. Recently, it has changed to the World Golf Championship-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship.
